Treasure Map

Hello, at-home adventurers! I figured I'd better show you where in the world I'm going in the next three months so you know where I'll be when you're at the library reading this blog!

I'm calling this my treasure map, because every country I visit will have its own hidden treasure that I'll try and discover. Don't worry, I'll show them to you, too!

Here's a world map from Semester at Sea. It has a label for every country I'll be visiting.
This map's a little bit small, but if you click on it, it will open up a bigger picture. The MV Explorer ships out from Nassau, Bahamas on August 29, and finally puts in at Miami, Florida on December 14th.

Which place do you most want to visit?

Ahoy, Mateys!

Hey guys!
If you're reading this, I bet my mom (Mrs. King to you) told you a little bit about me, but I'm gonna tell you a little bit more.

I'm a girl. Okay, maybe that was too obvious. How about this? I'm 20 years old, and I'll be 21 in November. I love to read, and my favorite books are the Harry Potter series (the Order of the Phoenix is my favorite) and The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. I usually go to college in Boston, but this semester I'm living aboard a ship, traveling to 10 different countries in 108 days.

Over that 108 days, I'm going to tell you all about my travels- what it's like to live on a ship, what I do when we get into port, and a little bit about each country I visit. I'll tell you all about the MV Explorer, piranha fishing in the Amazon in Brazil, and my safari in Namibia, Africa. I'll also put pictures up for you, so you can see what I see. I might even make you guys a video once in a while, so I can show you some of the cool things I'm bringing back home with me.

So that's that! If you guys have any questions for me, you can always leave comments at the ends of each blog entry. I'll try and answer them as best I can. That way, you guys will be like my "first (and second and third and so on) mates" on my cruise.

Thanks for reading, and I'll talk to you soon!
